Gross Reservoir Expansion Project
Although final project design continues, we anticipate that recreation along the reservoir’s north shore, including boating access, will continue throughout construction. For public safety considerations, recreation in other areas – particularly near the dam and in the vicinity of the quarry – will be curtailed during construction. Denver Water is in the process of developing a temporary recreation management plan detailing recreation closures and limitation during construction activities. At the end of construction, recreation opportunities will be similar to what currently exist at Gross Reservoir. Recreation access during the 2018 boating season does not have anticipated impacts for users.
